Accreditations:
- In April 1993 the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics
Education Programs (CAMPEP) issued a full 5 year accreditation to the M.Sc
and Ph.D. programs in medical physics at McGill University. The programs were re-accredited for additional 5-year terms in 1998, 2003, and 2008.
The current accreditation is in effect until December 31, 2013. Out of over 50
universities in North America, which offer graduate programs
in medical physics, 21 are currently accredited (6 in Canada and 15 in the United States).
- The McGill Residency in radiation oncology physics was first accredited by CAMPEP in 2000 and re-accredited in 2005 and 2010. The current accreditation
is in effect until December 31, 2015. Currently 37 residency programs have CAMPEP accreditation: 33 in radiation oncology physics (8 in Canada, 24 in
the United States, and 1 in Ireland) and 4 in imaging physics (2 in Canada and 2 in the United States).
